GENERATION 9
Biography
SONDRE OLAVSON married GUNHILD SVEINSDOTTER in 1723, and their first child, Sigrid, was born shortly thereafter. Their daughter Sigrid is the first who is listed in the church book for Mo in 1724. Probably she gave birth prematurely after the wedding or became deathly ill, for she paid the church in 1725.
Six more children were born over the next 15 years. But, when GUNHILD died, in 1739, only
four children survived her. When GUNHILD died, some of the land was used to pay off the debt.
In July 1732, SONDRE was found to be intoxicated at the home of his father-in-law (SVEIN TRONDSON) and was required to pay a fine of 6 rd to the poor. Six years later, in 1738, SONDRE was fined 8 rd for clearing timber in the woods of Bjørn Skredtveit.
Probate was held after Gunhild died in 1738. She owned the entire farm, silver and copper, worth over 442 rd, after debt. Gunnar Lofthus and Councillor of State leopoldus had the majority of the claim, and received land on the farm for it.
SONDRE continued to live at the farm, and in 1754 he sold the farm to his son OLAV for 229 rd. SONDRE married
second, Targjerd Halvorsdotter, from Dalen u.Underdal. They moved to Skålen, a sub-farm at Haugehåtveit,
that was not included in the sale to his son. Before he died, SONDRE also sold Skålen to OLAV.

Olav N. 1685-1719 |
Olav Gunnarson kjøpte arv i Reindal frå broren Såvi og systera Torunn i 1686 for 40 rd. To slagsmål kom for retten på tinget.

An Olav probably came to Reindal after Guri died; it would have been her son Olav Gunnarson S.Felland 8i. In 1688 it was Olav V.Lofthus 8 who owned almost the entire farm, 11 setK. After that time Olav Gunnarson Reindal owned this himself until his own death. He probably used both the farms a couple years. Olav Gunnarson purchased inheritance in Reindal from his brother Såvi and his sister Torunn in 1686 for 40 rd. At a wedding at Reindal in 1704 there was a rowdy scuffle. Two fights came before the court to settle. Probably it was the oldest daughter, Tore, who married at that time.
Olav was married to Guro Torbjørnsdtr Haugehåtveit 8b (1659-1737) and a probate was held after he died in 1720. The allodial property was 5½ mK in Reindal, 3½ mK in Underdal and 2 tnK in Reini. It was a particularly substantial estate worth over 1805 rd.

21. | Svein N. 1703-1750 |
Ho fekk difor ikkje noko for husehevd.
Olav Halvorson N.Åmli stemna verbroren for odelen av halve garden i 1726, men selde retten same året.

The brother of Odd Åse 19, Svein Trondson Skredtveit 8 (1669-Sk.1750), was a tenant farmer of half of the farm for Olav Åse 17. He received a property deed in 1702 from Olav Talleivson N.Håtveit for 350 rd. In addition he received the meadow on the southern side of Åse near Traståker and Kyrkjemark and the Bastestoge fields, Flokket and Haugeflokket for 53 rd. Svein would have the summer pastures Myklestøyl, Listøyl, Stavli Midstøyl, Stutebu and half of Tveito.
Svein was married to Åse Halvorsdtr N.Åmli 8c and had with her farming rights to the farms. In 1710 they sued Guri Jonsdotter for use of Åse. Her legal guardian, Olav Håtveit, affirmed that the farm was a good two-man farm which could feed 14-15 cattle and goats and sheep. The judgement was that Guri had to to accept 465 rd for her part of the farm, Svein was a tenant farmer of all Åse. The court indicated that the woods at the farm of Guri were extremely overcleared. Therefore, she got nothing for the use of the house.
Svein Trondson was a church warden in Mo 1709 to 1711 and bought allodial and farming rights to half of the farm of Torjus Halvorson in 1726. He bought Kvarvet 8 from the common people in 1728 for 120 rd and he used the farm in addition to Åse. Olav Halvorson N.Åmli [8b] petitioned his brother-in-law for the allodial rights to half the farm in 1726, but he sold the rights the same year. In 1730 Jon Oddson came from Groven and he wanted to have allodial rights, but he got nowhere. Probate was held after Svein and his wife Åse died in 1750. There was silver of over 40 rd, many large copper kettles and land at Åse (3 tnK), N.Håtveit (5 quarter tnK) and Ringestoga (½ tnK). There was certainly 735 rd to divide for the children.

Sondre Olavson Haugehåtveit 14 sold the farm to his son in 1754. Then he remarried and moved to Skålen where he died in 1758. His new wife was Targjerd Halvorsdtr and she was probably from Dalen under Underdal H2a (1726-). The probate after Sondre died in 1758 indicates that he had held back Skålen when he sold the farm. His son Olav Haugehåtveit 15 had purchased Skålen from his father before he died for 60 rd.
