WILLIAM MOULTON came to America in 1637, listed as a servant of ROBERT PAGE, of Ormesby. His age is given as twenty years in his "examination" before leaving England, April 11, 1637. He landed probably at Boston and settled first at Newbury, Essex, MA, and then in 1639 at Winnacunnett (now Hampton, Rockingham, NH), near his brothers, Thomas and JOHN.
WILLIAM died Apr. 18, 1664. His will, which is found in Essex County, Massachusetts, Probate Records, Vol. 2, pages 9-11, bears the date Mar. 8, 1663/64. Although coming to America with relatively little, and dying at the young age of forty-seven, he left a large estate - a double mansion in one of the best localities of the new township with "orchyd, tillage land, medow and marshes," together with personal estate of no inconsiderable amount. All this was distributed by his will with a curious particularity characteristic of the old country. In his will he mentions his wife and all his children, including his unborn child (William). He appoints his father in law, ROBERT PAGE, executor.
MARGARET PAGE married second Lt. John Sanborn, on Aug. 2, 1671, in Hampton, Rockingham, NH. She died
Jul. 13, 1699.
