THOMAS BISHOP was born in England about 1618, and lived most his life in Ipswich, Essex, MA. He died Feb. 7, 1670/71. His estate was valued at above five thousand pounds, which was a large fortune for the times. He served in many public offices. He was Deputy for Ipswich to the General Court in 1666. He was licensed to sell strong liquors from 1666-70.
Two brothers were mentioned in his will, Paul of Kingston, England, and Job of Ipswich.
