PETER AYER was admitted freeman May 23, 1666, in Haverhill, Essex, MA. He was a farmer in that town, which he represented in the general court in 1683-85 and 1689-90, and otherwise active in town affairs and in the Indian wars. PETER is buried at the Granary Burying Ground on Tremont Street in Boston, Suffolk, MA. The inscription on his tomb reads:
