Biography

Lt. JOHN DRESSER married MARTHA THORLEY on Nov. 11, 1662, in Rowley, Essex, MA. MARTHA died Jun. 29, 1700. JOHN married second, Mrs. Rebecca Dickinson, widow of James Dickinson. Rebecca was the mother of Mercy, JOHN's daughter-in-law. So Rebecca was both the mother and mother-in-law of Mercy. Rebecca was also the sister-in-law of SARAH DICKINSON, wife of JEREMIAH JEWETT. She married SARAH's brother, James Dickinson, from whom she was widowed.

JOHN was sent to the General Court in 1691, and four times thereafter.
