NATHANIEL SOUTHWORTH was born in Little Compton, Newport, RI, Oct. 31, 1692. He married MARY TORREY and moved to Bristol, RI, where his three oldest children were born and baptized. Late in 1719, or early the next year they moved to Mansfield, Tolland, CT.
NATHANIEL was a ship carpenter. About 1730 or 1731, he took a voyage to the Mediterranean Sea in hopes
of improving his fortunes, a trip from which he never returned. MARY remarried in 1738 to (first
name unknown) Manley. They had no children.
