STEPHEN RICHARDSON was born Jul. 14, 1732, and married MABEL MARSH at Coventry, Tolland, CT, on Feb. 22, 1763. He was one of the soldiers who went to Boston at the Lexington Alarm in 1775. After the war he resided in East Windsor, Hartford, CT., where he died Oct. 7, 1809.
MABEL died on Aug. 4, 1798. Two grandchildren were apparently named for her, James Marsh Jewett and Mabel M. Jewett.
An entry in the Boston Transcript, Jun. 6, 1927, #1960:
"Did anyone ever find the ancestry of Mabel Marsh who married Stephen Richardson? STEPHEN was received into membership of the second Society of Coventry in 175_, from the Mansfield Church. It is said that STEPHEN and his wife are buried in Windsor,VT.[sic] The Marsh families had land holdings in Mansfield and Coventry." W.K.P.
"Whose daughter was Mabel Marsh who married Stephen Richardson? Both probably died in Windsor, VT.[sic] Stephen was given a letter from a Mansfield church to the Second Church of Coventry. Was Mabel a grandaughter of Thomas Marsh of the Separatist Church of Mansfield, CT?" L.W.P.
