Biography

ASA TUCKER was from Suffield, Hartford, CT, having been born there May 26, 1767. ANNA MILLER was born Jan, 2, 1769, the daughter of ELIZABETH NOBLE by her second husband, JOHN CHRISTIAN MILLER. She was born in Simsbury, Hartford, CT.

After the marriage they settled in Suffield, and lived there until 1830. After ANNA died on Nov. 28 of that year, ASA probably moved to the Sauquoit area of Paris, Oneida, NY, where his son ASA had moved.

Olive Tucker married John Collins in 1817, in Suffield, and had three children there. In 1825, she and her family moved to Chardon, Geauga, OH. John was a carriage maker there. The family is buried at the Chardon Village Cemetery.

The marriage records of the Congregational Church in Ashfield, Franklin, MA, show that Asa Tucker married Eunice Perry in August 1828. Her birth is reported in the Ashfield town records. She is the daughter of John and Eunice (Cooledge) Perry, who were married in Ashfield in 1793.

In 1833, the three youngest Tucker daughters joined Olive and her family in Chardon. Within the next year-and-a-half Fidelia and Harriet had married. Fidelia married BENJAMIN MARLIN JEWETT, who would marry MATILDA after the death of Fidelia. Harriet married David Meeker.
