An article in the NEHGS Register (Vol. 174, pp. 40-51, Winter 2020) by Myrtle Stevens Hyde, reveals newly found information about the Gardiner family who presumably lived in or near Bramford, Suffolk, England. RICHARD GARDINER is thought to have had two wives. His first wife, name unknown, would be the mother of PHILIP GARDINER. PHILIP was named as eldest son in his father's will dated January 27, 1559/60. In making that will, RICHARD called hinself "Gardyner," carpenter, of Bramford. The will was proved October 13, 1560. |
