Biography

EDWARD PERRY came to America with his siblings and his widowed mother, SARAH. They settled in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA. In the year 1653, EDWARD PERRY married MARY FREEMAN, by Friends ceremony. By Quaker practice, they "married themselves." There was no minister or magistrate present. This was against the laws of the Massachusetts colony, and as such, they were fined.
