WILLIAM PRESTON was a church warden in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England, in 1617. He embarked for New England Sep. 19, 1635, on the Truelove, with all his children except EDWARD and Daniel, who came earlier in the year. He settled first at Dorchester, Suffolk, MA, and then removed to New Haven, New Haven, CT.
WILLIAM signed the fundamental agreement on Jun. 4, 1639, at New Haven, and took the oath of fidelity
on Jul. 1, 1644. He married first Oct. 11, 1613, in Chesham, ELIZABETH SALE. She died in Chesham,
before the family sailed for America. He married second Mary, surname unknown. Sometimes his second
wife's name is given as Mary Seabrook, daughter of Robert and Alice (Goodspeed) Seabrook.
