DANIEL WARNER died in 1679, shortly after his father, who died the same year. His wife, SARAH ROE, was given the rights to the lot alloted to DANIEL. The lot was on the east side of Bank Street between Main and Grand Streets.
Before his death, DANIEL built the cellar of his house on his house lot, near where South Main Street begins, and also the part of Exchange place that was taken for that street when South Main was laid out about 1806. It probably included the site of Apothecaries' Hall. The cellar was built before the location of the highway was laid out and apparently was an intrusion upon the road. The results of this intrusion can be seen today by the curved line of the east side of Bank Street.
After DANIEL died, SARAH married second John Warner, of Springfield, Hampden, MA, not related to DANIEL
WARNER. They were married Aug. 31, 1683, and had one child, Nathaniel, born Aug. 19, 1684.
