SYMON TUTTLE (TOOTILL) was born about 1560 in Ringstead, Northamptonshire, England. About 1592 he married ISABEL WELLS. SYMON died and was buried Jun. 15, 1630, in Ringstead.
In the summer of 1635, his widow, ISABEL, along with her three living sons, their wives, and 9 grandchildren, sailed to America from London on the ship, Planter, captained by Nicholas Trerice. The ship left London April 2, 1635 (possibly April 10) and arrived in Boston June, 7, 1635.
The oldest son, Richard, age forty-two, settled in Boston, where he died May 8, 1640.
The next oldest, John, a mercer (dealer in textile fabrics), age thirty-nine, settled at Ipswich, MA,
and was in Ireland in 1654, and probably fell sick there. His wife, Joan Antrobus, went to
Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, and wrote on Apr. 6, 1657, that he had died there, Dec. 30, 1656.
