HENRY RUST came to America in 1635, settling in Hingham, Plymouth, MA. It is supposed that he came from Hingham, Norfolk, England. He was a land owner and one of the principal town officers in Hingham. The Hingham Town Records show that "HENRY RUST is to have two acres for planting ground next to John Farrah."
On Mar. 5, 1637, HENRY received his proportion from the town of meadow and upland of Nantascus Division. Among 39 recipients, he received one acre of meadow and five acres of upland.
In 1645 he was appointed for "ye recording births and buruals."
He removed to Boston, where he was admitted to be an inhabitant Mar. 31, 1651. He purchased a place in Boston from the widow Awdrey Palmer, the deed being dated Mar. 11, 1652. This land was situated at what is now the north corner of Sumner and Hawley Streets. It adjoined the land of Amos Richardson and on it the first Trinity Church was erected in 1728. He was a glover by trade. He died about 1684.
The name of his wife is unknown.
