HENRY EWELL was a shoemaker in Sandwich, Kent, England. He came to America in March 1634/35, on the Hercules (200 tons, captained by John Witherley), and settled in Scituate, Plymouth, MA. He became a member of the First Church at Scituate (Mr. Lathrop's) on Apr. 3, 1636. In 1637, he was a soldier in the Pequot War.
On Nov. 23, 1638, he married SARAH ANNABLE, at Green Harbor, West Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA. SARAH was
born in Kent County, England, in 1622, and came to America with her parents, in the ship Ann, in 1623.
She removed to Barnstable in 1646, but returned to Scituate.
