JOHN PECKER was a "ship chandler" and "innholder", according to "The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury. He married ELIZABETH KELLY on June 16, 1709, in Boston, Suffolk, MA. JOHN was one of the founders of the New North Church in Boston, in 1712.
JOHN and ELIZABETH removed to Haverhill, Essex, MA, in 1722.
JOHN married second, Hannah Wainwright, Apr. 4, 1723 at Newbury, MA (marriage intention recorded in Boston, Mar 13, 1722). Hannah was the widow of John Wainwright, and daughter of William Redford. John Wainwright drowned at sea aboard a sloop off Rhode Island. His will showed that he owed money to JOHN PECKER. At the time of his death, his daughter Abigail Wainwright was nine years old. On Oct. 14, 1723, JOHN PECKER was made guardian of Abigail.
JOHN was admitted to the first church
of Haverhill, July 2, 1738. He died Dec. 12, 1756 at Haverhill. His son, JAMES, was appointed administrator of the estate,
Jan. 10, 1757. His will mentioned his second wife, Hannah.
