SHADRACH (also Shadrack) LANPHEAR recorded his earmark at Westerly on June 29, 1689 or 1690. He was admitted freeman, along with his brother Richard, on Mar. 28, 1692. SHADRACH was granted 100 acres of land called lot 24 on the same day.
According to Stonington records, the "wife of Sheadrik Lamphear" was admitted on June 1, 1701, to the First Church in Stonington. SHADRACH recorded his earmark at Stonington on Apr. 22, 1723. "Shedrich," of Stonington, bought four acres of land bordering his own from William and Dorothy Willcocks, of New London County, Connecticut, for £16 on Jan. 6, 1727/28, less than one month before SHADRACH's death.
EXPERIENCE, as "SHADRACH LAMPHIRE's wife," was dismissed from this Chh and recommended to ye communion of ye chh of C(hri)st in Northe Stoningtown" on May 7, 1727.
SHADRACH's first inventory, submitted by administrators EXPERIENCE and Joseph Lanphear, was dated June 17, 1728. On Feb. 22, 1730/31, Thomas Clark, George Stillman and William Hovey appraised the real estate. SHADRACH had forty-nine acres of land in Westerly that was valued at £147. The real estate within Westerly was too small to divide, but his widow received her third on Apr. 26, 1731. Then John Denison of Stonington, yeoman, was appointed administrator on Sep. 27, 1731.
Sometime before Feb. 23, 1731/32, EXPERIENCE (READ) LANPHEAR married second, SAMUEL LINCOLN. He was the
father of her son-in-law, THOMAS LINCOLN. EXPERIENCE died after Mar. 3, 1737/38.
