October 25th of Brights Disease
FUNERAL MONDAY FROM LUTHERAN CHURCH
Bjorn Thorstenson, one of the pioneers of this section of the country and a
highly respected farmer of the Section northeast of Plentywood, died at his home, Friday morning,
October 28th, of Bright's disease and old age. Mr. Thorstenson had been ailing for some time
prior to his death
The funeral was held from the Plentywood Luthern church, Monday afternoon, October 31st, Rev. Kjer
officiating, and interment was made in the Plentywood cemetery.
A large number of neighbors, friends and relatives attended the funeral.
OBITUARY
Bjorn Thorstenson was born in Telemarken, Norway, in 1849, and emigrated
to America in the year 1882 at the age of thirty-three years, just thirty-nine years ago, settling
on a homestead in Ottertail County, Minnesota. In 1871, at the age of twenty-two years he was united in
Marriage to Sigri A. Drangstvedt at their home in Norway. After coming to America, he with their family
lived on their homestead in Ottertail County, Minnesota, until 1906, when together with his wife and
children, he moved to Montana, and eleven years ago he came to Plentywood, as also did his sons, where
he has resided until the time of his death, Friday, October 28th. He leaves a wife and six children,
four sons and two daughters and several grandchildren to mourn his departure.
