Biography

EIVIND likely lived at Storåsli in 1550, where he was a lagrettemann [juror]. He may have been married to the mother of VETLE ASLAKSON, her second husband. Whether she was the mother of the children of EIVIND is uncertain.

EIVIND EGILSON bought land in 1566 from Arne and Asbjørn Olavson, sons of Olav Tarjeison. EIVIND paid 12 lodd [1 lodd = 14.6246 grams] silver for Grimestøyl, Fet and Kistestøyl. These pasture lands are located near the Grimdalen farm, and were later used by descendants of EIVIND. Grimdalen, and the associated lands, are near today's Highway 45, south of Dalen,

Land documents at Storåsli, regarding "Grimstøl and Feet" bear similarity to land purchased by EIVIND and recorded at Bilstad as "Grimestøyl and Fet."

Orm Ivarson selde 2 markebol jord i Bilstad til Drengmann Helgeson i 1520. I ei sak om Kistestøyl og Fet i 1678 får me høyra om Eivind Egilson Bilstad. Han kjøpte Grimestøyl, Fet og Kistestøyl frå Arne, Asbjørn og Olav Tarjeisøner for 12 lodd sylv i 1566. Eivind var gift med mora til Vetle Storåsli og hadde truleg butt på Storåsli 2. Om ho var mor til borna til Eivind, er uvisst.

The Bilstad farm is believed to have received the name from the rarely seen man's name Billi.

I ei sak om Grimestøyl og Kristedalen i 1688 kom det fram i retten eit dokument frå 1484: «Effuid Asbjørnson hand udsettr i kioeb etter Tord Tallefson 9 markebol i Storåsli og 3 markebol i Hegum og Åsum, Item av Eigild Anundson 3½ markebol og av Gunnuf Gunnufson 1 markebol i Legvolden undertagen i Grimestøl og Feet».

Det er og teke vare på ein avskrift av eit dokument frå 1548. Tarjei Storåsli gav sonen Alv 20 kyrlag i pengar, 8 lodd sylv og 3 markebol i Tveiten i Skafså. Kona til Tarjei gav sonen 4 markebol i Rygnestad i Valle. Det var hennar odelsjord og hadde aldri vore ute av hennar slekt.

The name Storåsli was drived from the man's name Storolfr.

It is also taken care of [included] in a transcript of a document from 1548.
