JOHN WEBB was released from his master, William Parks, of Roxbury, Suffolk, MA, on Jan. 6, 1633/34. He lived in Boston and later moved to New Haven, New Haven, CT. He went back to Boston about 1651, and than returned to Stamford, Fairfield, CT, about 1653.
JOHN moved to Northampton, Hampshire, MA, in 1654, where he was a "brazier" (blacksmith). He also had a tavern in Northampton.
ANNA BASSETT died Aug. 26, 1667, in Northampton. JOHN married, second, Elizabeth Swift, on Oct. 16, 1667 , and had two children by her. Elizabeth Swift was born Mar. 24, 1641, in Dorchester, Suffolk, MA, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Capen) Swift. JOHN died May 19, 1670, and Elizabeth married Robert Danks on Mar. 26, 1672.
There has been much written about this family line, including an extensive article in the January 1947,
volume of The American Genealogist. One thing that is certain, is that there are many opinions and much
conflicting information. The information presented in this compilation is just one of the possibilities.
