NATHANIEL WEARE came to this country, with his brother Peter, in 1637, and settled in Newbury, Essex, MA. He appears in Newbury records from 1638-59, at which time he migrated to Nantucket. He died there Mar. 1, 1681.
NATHANIEL's brother, Peter, settled in York County, Maine, where he was an Indian trader from 1640 on.
He was engaged in some of the controversies over the ownership and government of Maine, sometimes
imprisoned and sometimes imprisoning others. He died in 1690.
