I gamle dagar gjekk det mange slag ord om Olav Grå og sønine hans på Tveit i Tveitgrenni. Me finn karane jamleg i tingbøkane. Segni er at Olav var sylvsmed og kom frå Kongsberg til Bø (Gråsvoll og kanskje Groa skal vera minne om han). Seinst kom han til Tveit. Han er nemnd i lensrekneskapane i Bø 1645, han betalar koppskatt. 1661 er han komen til Kviteseid, 1664 er han «oppsidder» på Tveit, 54 år, sønine Ahnders og Verner er 18 og 14 år. Han hev 4 born, «Ole Graas Sønner», som me kjenner frå skifte og tingbok.

English translation In the old days, there was all kinds of talk about Olav Grå and his sons in Tveit i Tveitgrenni [Map]. We find the men constantly in the court registers. Legend is that Olav was a silversmith and came from Konsberg to Bø (Gråsvoll and perhaps Groa honor his memory). Finally he came to Tveit. He is named in the land accounts at Bø in 1645, he is paying poll tax. In 1661 he has come to Kviteseid. In 1664 he is «oppsidder» [leaseholder] in Tveit, age 54, sons Ahnders and Verner are 18 and 14 years old. He has 4 children «Ole Graas Sønner» [Ole Graa's sons] whom we know from estate settlements and court register.
