Halvor Talleivson Skafså 8a (1651-1739) obtained the farm after his father died as was usual for the oldest son. He may have had the farm earlier (sjå Skafså 9), but it is not likely. In 1698 he sold ½ tnK skyldgods [assessed land value] in Tveiten to Talleiv Knutson for 24 rd.

In 1695 Halvor got the allodial rights to Seltveit and bought the farm in 1697. After that he used Seltveit 9 under Skafså.

Halvor Talleivson bought 3 quarter tnK from Halvor Alvson N. Åmli for 500 rd in 1718. He bought the allodial rights to this part in 1721 from Olav Ånundson Groven in Eidsborg for 20 rd. His son then got Skafså and he himself moved to Seltveit.

Halvor was married to Torbjørg Olavsdtr Viken 5a (1658-1729) and used Viken 8 for a time before he came to Skafså. Probate was held after Torbjørg of S.Tveiten died in 1729. The land estate was 2½ tnK allodial property in Skafså, 2 tnK in Viken, 1 tn 4 mK in Seltveit, 1 tnK in Torstveit, 1 tnK in Lid in Mo and ½ tnK in Mykli. But the personal property increased the value of the estate estimated at a total 2215 rd. Probate after Halvor died was held at Viken in 1739. He then had some mortgage on Viken so there was 283 rd to divide.

Talleiv Halvorson Skafså 11a (1688-Sk.1749) got the use of a part of the farm called Nedre Skafså from about 1717. He lived first at Viken 11 and had used the farm for 3 years according to the 1718 prestemanntalet [parson's census]. After his father moved to Seltveit, he got all of Skafså.

The wife of Talleiv was Birgit Gjermundsdtr N.Vistad 2g (1692-1779). By means of the probate in 1749 after Halvor [sic, Talleiv] died she owned 2½ tnK at Skafså. The woods were so much thinned out the valuation of the farm was set down at 50 rd. The estate had also 1 tn 4 mK at Seltveit, so there was still large wealth. With personal property there was a total of 1565 rd to divide.

The widow Birgit Talleivsdtr [Birgit Gjermundsdtr?] used the farm many years before she let her son have it. There was a probate held after her death at Viken in 1680 [sic, 1779] where she had a mortgage on Viken and a net worth of 340 rd.

Gjermund Olavson N.Vistad 1a (1648-Sk.1697) managed to assemble much of the land property in Vistad while he lived. In addition to his share of the inheritance after his parents died, he may have gotten land in Berdal, for he traded ½ tnK in Søndre Berdal and 130 rd to Torgrim Olavson Vistad in 1674 and got back 1½ tnK in S.Vistad. ---att-- The year after he had to mortgage 2½ quarter tnK of this for 50 rd.

Wife of Gjermund was Signe Tarjeisdtr from Moghus in Fyresdal. Probate was held after she died in 1676 at N.Vistad. The estate had 3 tn ½ quarter tnK in Vistad and 5 notK skyldgods in Lauvvik. There was also worth of 168 rd to divide among the daughters. Gjermund Vistad and Gunnar Seltveit were sued in 1677 by Tomas Jonson Somer for rent for 6 years of 1 tnK in Vistad. He had a mortgage on the farm from Torbjørn Seltveit. Gjermund had to pay overdue property taxes and jolemark with expenses. That was 15 rd. The same year he got a contract with mayor Anders Andersson concerning sawtimber from the forest.

Gjermund married a second time to Ingebjørg Steinarsdtr Fjågesund 17 (1661-1740) from Kviteseid. It seems as if he chopped diligently in the woods, for his wealth was substantial when the probate was held after Gjermund died in 1697. There was allodial property in N.Vistad (3 tnK), S.Vistad (1 and 1 quarter tn 5 notK), Homleid in Tørdal (1½ tnK) and N.Lauvvik (5 notK). They used southern and northern Vistad jointly. There was silver of about 35 rd and 2 books. In total 514 rd was the value of personal property and rights.

Talleiv was the son of Halvor Skafså 11 and he lived later at Skafså 12.
