Biography

ENOS GIFFORD died in May, 1769, His will, recorded book 2, page 78, made Jun 5, 1764, and proved Jun 6, 1769:

"To son Elijah all my farm lying in Dartmouth where he now liveth; to son Canaan one certain part of homestead where I now dwell, being the southerly part; to sons Elijah and Canaan my cedar swamp in Dartmouth; to son Enos certain part of homestead farm where new highway at west end of farm, north partly one Ezek Wilbour, and east on Ezek Wilbor; to son Joseph remainder of homestead; to sons Enos and Joseph cedar swamp called Peseachest swamp; to daughter Phillis Davenport one Spanish milled dollar; to daughter Dorcas Manchester one Spanish milled dollar; to children of daughter Rachel Wilbor deceased one silver Spanish dollar; to wife one good cow, riding beast, with my bond of Ebenezer Petty and my side saddle ..."

PHYLLIS ALLEN died in May, 1790, Her will, recorded book 3, page 194, made Jun 13, 1780, and proved Jun 1, 1790:

"To son Elijah one shilling; to sons Canaan, Enos, and Joseph one silver dollar each; to daughter Dorcas Manchester a brass kettle and worsted combs; to granddaughters Merribah Wilbor and Deborah Gifford two beds and bedsteads ... and to Deborah my great bible; to grandsons Samuel, JEPTHA and Ezek Wilbor ... the rest and residue to two daughters Phillis Davenport and Dorcas Manchester."
