ESEK WILBORE was one of the early settlers of Little Nine Partners' Patent in Dutchess County. He married RACHEL GIFFORD on Feb 7, 1750/51. They had five children, of which JEPTHA was the fourth.
Little Nine Partners' Patent was in the northeast corner of Dutchess County, along the Connecticut border. It included the towns of Washington and Milan. Dutchess County was a hotbed of Quakerism in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Nine Partners was at the center of that activity. By the 1800's, many of these Quakers had moved on to eastern Canada or to Michigan, in this country.
RACHEL died Mar. 5, 1763, and on Mar. 7, 1765, ESEK married second Rebecca Taber.
